Clearer Skin, One Layer at a Time

At Skin Haven Aesthetics Whitsundays, cosmetic peel treatments are designed to help exfoliate and refine the skin using medical-grade ingredients. Performed by a registered nurse in our Airlie Beach clinic, each peel is selected to suit your individual skin type and goals.

Targets Surface-Level COncerns

Peels may assist in treating concerns such as dullness, pigmentation, acne or rough texture. Your nurse will select a peel strength and formula appropriate to your skin condition, sensitivity and history.

Medical-Grade Ingredients

All peels use professional, clinically formulated ingredients. These solutions are applied in a controlled setting to remove damaged surface layers, stimulate skin renewal and encourage clearer, brighter skin over time.

Safe Application in Clinic

Treatments are delivered in a sterile, comfortable environment by a registered nurse. Your consultation includes a review of your skin and medical history to determine whether a peel is suitable for you.

How the Process Works

Peels are applied to freshly cleansed skin in a series of steps, with active ingredients chosen to match your needs. Sensations may include tingling or mild heat. Some peels cause visible flaking; others work below the surface with no downtime.

The goal is controlled exfoliation, not aggressive resurfacing. Most clients benefit from a course of treatments, spaced apart for safety and comfort.

  • What do cosmetic peels treat?

Cosmetic peels are commonly used to improve skin tone, texture and clarity. They may help reduce visible pigmentation, support acne-prone skin, and assist in smoothing out rough patches or uneven tone. By removing superficial skin cells, peels encourage healthy cell turnover and allow for better product absorption. Different types of peels target different concerns, so your skin will be assessed in person to choose the most appropriate option for your needs, goals and tolerance.

  • Are peels suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes, but the peel strength and formula must be carefully selected. Many peels come in multiple concentrations, and there are specific types designed for sensitive or reactive skin. During your consultation, your skin will be reviewed to determine if it’s currently healthy enough for exfoliation. If not, a preparatory phase may be recommended. The aim is always to choose a peel that works with—not against—your skin barrier to minimise risk and support long-term results.

  • What should I expect after a peel?

Post-treatment effects vary depending on the depth of the peel. Some cause little to no visible reaction, while others may result in redness, dryness or flaking for several days. You’ll be given detailed aftercare instructions, including what products to avoid and when to resume active skincare. It's also important to avoid sun exposure and use broad-spectrum sunscreen. You’ll be supported with follow-up guidance, and the clinic is available if you have any concerns.

  • How many peels will I need?

Results may be visible after one peel, but most clients benefit from a course of treatments. This could range from three to six sessions spaced weeks apart, depending on your concerns and skin response. Your nurse will create a plan based on your skin’s tolerance and what you’re hoping to improve. The treatment schedule can be adjusted based on results and preferences. Maintenance peels may also be recommended to support long-term skin clarity and health.
